GCOE Research Group: Theoretical Research

Research Subject and Research Plan for the GCOE Program:
The theoretical question of how emotion is contributing to social actions has been my main research concern. In order to construct the action theory from this point of view, there is a need to properly clarify the concept of emotion. I introduced the concept of lived choice, and keep refining it. Based on this concept, I am re-examining the already-existing sociological theories and concepts, and intend to make clear social actions related with emotional experiences.
In the present GCOE program, I intend to explore a theoretical logic connecting the intimate and public spheres with the concept of lived choice in the center.

Activities in the Asian Center for the Reconstruction of the Intimate and Public Spheres:
1  Committee:
Chair of Support Committee for Next-Generation researchers
2  Research Project:
None
3  Scholarly achievements related to the present GCOE Program, published after July 2008:
None.
